Frequently favoured by institutions, this drama-training programme has been at the heart of Official Opening and Speech Day events and SYF plays. It has also been the foundation for international drama tours, notably the vanguard Collaborative Student Shakespeare staged in England-Singapore.
The programme commences with finalisation of a concept and script by Language Arts that fully consider the themes, budgets, drama goals of an institution and a performance venue.
Language Arts casts the players from the student spectrum, conducts essential drama training for a performance and directs the entire production. In addition to the qualified and experienced drama trainers used, frequently the programme incorporates specialist Choreographers, Musical Directors, Songwriters and Set Designers.
Student casts develop skills in Acting, Language, Articulation, Voice Control, Movement and Group Work. While others are recruited for off-stage work. All the ones involved develop camaraderie and strong institution spirit, while the ones in the limelight take great pride in being at the centre of outstanding performances.
