The full programme empowers students with foundations in key Technical Theatre areas and serves as a stepping stone for students going further in a specific area in Tertiary institutions.
Drama Club students use a less complex version to discover the keys to staging a worthy drama production, either independently or dovetailed with The Writer's Craft-Plays
Both forms enable students grasp the concept of and practice teamwork that is the backbone of any successful theatrical production.
The programme introduces students to the elements and culture of stagecraft by qualified and experienced stage professionals. They learn the dynamics of a stage, including visits to a performing arts centre as well as performances of international quality. The combination of 'Exposure' and 'Experience' modules results in high quality foundation knowledge in all eight technical theatre areas.
It is being very effectively used to specially empower NT students as well as to motivate them to pursue Tertiary education in one or more disciplines in the programme.
Its less complex version enables students learn the roles, relevance and mechanics of Sets & Props, Stage Lighting and Make-Up. Acquiring knowledge about ways to combine elements with Sound and Effects, students learn to link stagecraft theory to practical projects.
